Dierama densiflorum

Bloem Rozerood of paarsroze, 20 - 29 mm.
Bloemstengel 135 - 165 cm, bloeiwijze hangend.

This species is only known from the Mporoto Mountains in Tanzania, between 1800 and 2100 m above sea-level. The book only shows an image of a dried plant. Its name refers to the crowding of the flowers in each coflorescence. De bract has numerous veins being so close together near the base of the bract that they form a solid patch.

It is very close allied to Dierama insigne from the southeastern Transvaal Highfield. They flower at different times, but both at the beginning of the rainy season in their respective areas.
